A BOLD VISION

We must make PA's tax system competitive with other states by cutting our highest in the nation corporate income tax to help job-creating small business people.  We also need to make government provide consistent, predictable and fair regulation that protects our state but still fosters job growth. 

Governor Wolf's shutdowns were wrong, unfair and disastrous to our economy. Ryan will fight to make sure they never happen again - because they cost too many people too many jobs and closed too many businesses for good. 

Attracting employers and jobs means having a well-educated and trained workforce...which means investing in traditional, vocational and technical education as well as job training.

Fund our police, get them the training and tools they need to do their job well, and support them in the difficult and dangerous job they do every day. Period. 

Dangerous criminals who put our families and communities at risk need to be taken off the streets when they commit a crime.

Criminals' rights shouldn't be more important than yours. Ensuring your 2nd Amendment right to self defense is vital to ensuring the safety of PA citizens.

Voting at the polls or absentee? Show your photo identification.  Real due dates for ballots through the mail. No more drop boxes. No ballot harvesting. Simple rules - all the same for every county.

Every year. Every election. Review what happened and make sure: were the rules followed? Was the count correct? 

Elections are as accurate as the voters who take part in them. Ryan is the prime sponsor of legislation to audit the actual voter registration system to make sure the voter rolls are accurate and legitimate.

For too long bureaucrats and special interest unions have stifled innovation in education - and trapped too many children in failing schools. It's time to give families and kids the choice they deserve to foster innovation and competition. We also need to increase accountability - among schools, teachers and administrators - to ensure that schools are actually preparing our children for success.

We can't say we want to improve education without being to invest - but invest wisely. That means ensuring providing the resources to equip our traditional, vocational and technical schools with the tools they need to truly prepare our children with the skills necessary for success in the real world. 

For children to truly be successful in school, parents need to be strong partners in their education - but that must include in curriculum and in ensuring that radical theories aren't forced upon them. 

Pass a Taxpayer Bill of Rights that limits how much government can raise spending - if at all - in any year, requires a super-majority of the legislature to raise taxes, and just makes it harder for the government to get in our pockets.

No more special treatment for the politicians: no more perks, per diems or pensions. While we're at it let's shrink the size of the legislature, too.

It's not fair for today's politicians to put tomorrow's generations into debt. We need borrowing reform that limits how much debt can be taken on in any one year - and in total - so we don't overburden our children and grandchildren.
